Headline News : Redmond Wins NRS Rd4
Posted by KevinR on 2010/7/29 21:50:00 (107 reads)

Round 4 of the NRS 'Northern Regional Series' was held at the fantastic NNRC track. The track was bone dry and high grip, but there was a strong cross wind that was causing havoc with the cars trying to jump the double double at the far side of the track, if you could do the double double, it would knock a second and a half off your lap times! Colin Brennan got used to the conditions the best in RD1 and took TQ with a very respectable time of 7laps 5m09.677 . Round 2, and Mark Redmond pulled out an almost perfect run, doing the double double every lap, and setting the fastest time of the day that no one would get near for the rest of the day, doing 7Laps 5m03.428. Round 3, This time Pete Watt had a good steady run and took the round win with 7Laps 5m09.898 followed up by Mark Redmond and Collin Brennan. Mark Redmond took over all pole position. The final, and this was set to be quite an event for the TQ man, after getting off to a good start, Mark Redmond rolled his car on the opening lap, going from 1st to last. Bruce Thompson was leading the final up to the half way point, but by this time the fast chasing Losi / Alpha car of Mark Redmond had worked his way through the field and was up in to second. Mark got passed Bruce on the double double, and from that point on drove a clean steady race to take the win. Pete Watt drove a great final to finish second, and Bruce Thompson 3rd. It was a great result for the ‘Horizon UK / Team Alpha / Radio Racers’ Driver, Mark Redmond.
