Headline News : Worlds Warm Up - Finals Day
Posted by Admin on 2010/2/14 8:24:25 (2429 reads)

Meen Vejrak from Thailand is the 2010 Worlds Warm up Champion
The 60 minute final was one of the craziest in this classes history; several drivers saying this was the hardest track they've ever driven on and the final prooved this. The keyword for the final was Flame out everyone except Champ Khunthin and Jordan Go experienced problems at one stage of the final. The first half of the final was dominated by Ty Tessmann up until the 31 min mark where a suspected battery or switch put him out of contention. Before that Robbers who had been running in 2nd broke a steering servo at the 22min mark, similarly Jerome Aigoin broke a front arm after only 13mins coming into pitlane, but he was back on track having fixed it. With Tessmann out, Leino took over the lead and drove consistently, Savoya after his earlier flame outs and pitting at 6mins was up to 2nd but this wouldn't last as various issues dropped him down the running order. At 45 mins Leino still had the lead with Hara up to 2nd and Meen Vejrak in 3rd, 1 min later and Leino suffered his problem and dropped to 3rd, so about 12 mins to and Hara was leading. with 10 mins to go Hara's HB D8 body became damaged and the front flared up acting like a wind breaker - into the pits and Meen was back on the lead lap. A single minute later and Hara flamed out gifting the lead to Meen V - himself having had issues early on in the main but now in first. With the clock counting down Meen Vejrak from Thailand held on really well to finish first after a hugely demanding 60 minute final, Leino recovered to 2nd and 3rd Surikarn.

The semis have been run and Ty Tessmann is starting on pole with Robbers 2nd and Hara lining up 3rd. The major casualties in the semis were the Ales & Martin Bayer, Quagraine and most surprisingly S.Korean 5th qualifiger Dani Choi, finishing an agonising 3.5sec behind a bump position.
