Byron Originals, Inc. announces discontinuation of the Byron Fuels brand

Byron Originals, Inc., an Iowa-based manufacturer, is making the difficult announcement that the company will be ending production and discontinuing their Byron Fuels brand after 32 years of operation in the RC fuels industry. Over the last decade, demand for RC nitro fuel has significantly declined due to industry and consumer-related factors. Production will officially end in late May, and the brand will be retired when the remaining product inventory is sold.

RC Concept subject to a winding-up proceedings

We have just learned that the French company RC Concept has been placed in bankruptcy. Launched 5 years ago by Sébastien Chaffardon, RC Concept was based on a team made up of Reno Savoya and Lee Martin but quickly only R. Savoya will continue to represent the brand as an ambassador on the international tracks. RC Concept offered a range of electronic products and nitro products with engines based on Picco and fuel specifically formulated and produced by Labema. No information about the guarantees has been provided so far.

Speedzone have announced their new brand called Evolution, designed for and dedicated to competitive racing. The Evolution brand will broaden Speedzone’s exposure in the competitive R/C car racing scene and will bring forth a selection of high quality, high performance race ready/race tested products. The first product offerings for the brand are 1S, 2S standard and shorty 130C lipo packs. The 6000mAh 7.4V LCG pack measures 139x47x22.5mm and weighs 294g, the 5200mAh 7.4V shorty pack measures 96x47x25mm and weighs 228g while the 8100mAh 3.7v pack measures 93x47x18.5mm and weighs 160g. All packs were designed to produce High Voltage with low internal resistance and utilize 5mm bullet connectors.

Masami Hirosaka parts way with Yokomo

After 30 years spent with Yokomo, Masami Hirosaka has announced today on social media that he parts way with the Japanese brand. Considered as one of the best drivers of all time, this RC stakhanovist is also the one who has won the most Worlds titles, making him a legend. His surprise departure from his “home” is linked to the retirement of Yokomo’s founder, Tom Yokobori. Until a new opportunity comes along, Masami continues to work for IFMAR on tracks around the world.
