Day 1 at the 4th running of the Spanish Buggyland event in Fuencarral, Madrid saw drivers find their rhythm on the demanding three-dimensional track with a very hard packed smooth grippy surface which would develop into a narrow racing line and sand offline as the day progressed. Overcast and windy conditions welcomed the drivers in the morning followed by sunshine in the afternoon as Robert Batlle would top seeding practice in E-Buggy followed closely by fellow Spaniard Juan Carlos Canas.
In nitro buggy David Ronnefalk went fastest in the first round but despite improving in round 2 it was Elliott Boots’ very planted Kyosho that would top proceedings as Ongaro came within a 10th of Boots’ time to seed 3rd overall infront of Robert Batlle. Practice day at Buggyland proved a bit of a struggle for VIP Jared Tebo, saying he didn’t quite feel at home on the high grip yet occasionally loose surface, however there should be more to come for tomorrow.
