Team Orion was founded by Philippe Neidhart in 1987. Thanks to its numerous innovations and clever business strategy, Team Orion was highly successful for its first 20 Years of existence. Despite its best efforts, due to the worldwide economical crisis and other technological factors out of its control, the early years of the 21st century caused severe issues for Team Orion’s business as a whole.

Jared Tebo extends Team Orion contract

Team Orion have announced that World Champion Jared Tebo extends his contract with the multi-time world champion brand. Jared will use the full Team Orion equipment including the new Ultimate Graphene batteries and HMX speed controllers to power his cars.

“Jared Tebo is one of the strongest US drivers. It’s great to have him in our team developing, testing and using our latest racing products. Back in 2013 Jared won the 2wd Electric Buggy World Championship title for Team Orion and he has won countless US National titles for the Swiss brand. We are happy to continue this long-term collaboration.”

Jörn Neumann re-signs with Team Orion

Team Orion have announced that Jörn Neumann has extended his contract with the multi-time World champion brand. The European champion will use the full Team Orion equipment including the new Ultimate Graphene batteries and HMX speed controllers to power his cars.

“With Jörn extending his sponsorship agreement, Team Orion has one of the strongest European drivers under contract. As in the previous years, his experience and feedback will be incorporated in new products, taking into consideration the special requirements of European tracks.”

Dakotah Phend extends Team Orion contract

Team Orion have announced that US National Champion Dakotah Phend has signed an contract extension with the multi-time world champion brand. Dakotah will use the full Team Orion equipment including the new Ultimate Graphene batteries and HMX speed controllers to power his cars.

“It’s with great pleasure that we can announce Dakotah’s prolongation of his contract”, says Team Manager Chad Phillips, “Dakotah is one of the best drivers in the US and he has the potential for the very big international victories.”

Ryan Maifield re-signs with Team Orion

The reigning electric off-road double World Champion Ryan Maifield has signed a new two year contract with Team Orion. The multi-time US National Champion has crowned his career last year with the domination of the electric off-road Worlds in China using Team Orion power.

“Ryan Maifield will use the full Team Orion equipment for another 2 years. And he’s not alone – stay tuned for more exciting team news from Team Orion”, says new Team Orion US Team Manager Chad Phillips.

Team Orion Ultimate Graphene LiPo & LiHV batteries

World Champion brand Team Orion have introduced the new Ultimate Graphene LiPo and LiHV battery packs. The new Ultimate Graphene LiPo batteries represent the latest development in lithium battery technology, offering new levels of performance. Team Orion’s engineers have worked closely with their team drivers to fine tune the performance of the Graphene LiPo batteries to make sure that the performance is optimal, no matter the track conditions. Thanks to the ultra low internal resistance and improved capacity, the new Graphene LiPo cells supply stable power, from the start to the end of the race.

Team Orion Touch V2 & Touch Advance LiHV Firmware

Team Orion have released their new LiHV firmware for the Touch V2 and Touch Advance chargers. With the “Touch Duo V-Max” double output charger Team Orion have introduced their first charger specialised in handling new generation LiHV batteries. Owners of the standard Touch Duo model were able to update their devices with the new LiHV-firmware for free.

Now, Team Orion present a LiHV-firmware for the single output touch screen chargers “Touch V2 (55W)” and “Touch Advance (100W)”. Click here to download the LiHV firmware.

Ty Tessmann leaves Team Orion

Ty Tessmann has announced his departure from Team Orion. During a four years spend together, the Canadian driver won numerous victories and titles in national and international races. Ty posted the following on social networks:

“For the past 4 years I have raced for Team Orion for my electric program and have had many successes together with them. I would like to thank Phillipe Neidhart for giving me the opportunity to run for Orion, I would also like to thank Joe Pillars for the great support all the time, whether at races or not, you are a great asset to the team. I don’t take changing sponsors lightly but I feel it is now time for me to go a different direction for my electric program. I’m looking forward to great things in 2018.”
