Tamiya X-SA Hornet 1/10th 2WD Buggy

Tamiya have introduced the new Hornet 1/10th 2WD Buggy, now available in X-SA (Expert-Semi-Assembled) version. The ride features a fully-assembled and setup chassis with the TEU-105BK speed controler included, plus a fully painted body with the marking stickers already applied.

Tamiya VQS Vanquish re-release buggy coming soon

Tamiya have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming VQS Vanquish 4WD vintage re-release buggy. Scheduled to be launched around October 2020, the VQS Vanquish is based on the legendary Vanquish, and comes with tweaks to bring it into the modern day. The assembly kit features a bathtub chassis providing a really solid base, highly rigid aluminium front uprights and efficient universal shafts inherited from the 2011 Avante, and smooth drivetrain with gear differentials from the original Avante. The classic form of the buggy is captured in a lightweight and durable polycarbonate, pre-painted and cut, with holes already made. Stickers are based upon those in the original and just require application to complete the body. The VQS Vanquish will come with a ESC and a 540-class motor.

Coming soon from Tamiya is the new DT-03 X-SA Racing Fighter 1/10th Buggy. No information about the new kit have leaked in the wake but detailed images and information about the vehicle should become available very soon.

Tamiya Terra Scorcher 2020 4WD buggy kit

Tamiya have introduced the new Terra Scorcher 2020 4WD buggy kit. Based on the Terra Scorcher released in 1988, the buggy is equipped with a double-wishbone 4-wheel independent suspension with CVA oil damper on a light and strong bathtub type frame. The camber angle can be adjusted using a screw shaft on the upper arm, and a stabilizer is also standard equipment on the front and rear. The steering system is divided into three parts. Toe-in adjustment is easy with a ball adjuster at the rod end. The compact body and large arch-shaped rear wing are made of polycarbonate. White and light blue graphics, logos and numbers are available on stickers. In addition, the white-collar wheels are equipped with spiked tires that provide sufficient grip regardless of the road surface. As the name of the Scocher (flyer) is, it is very attractive to drive off-road at high speed.

Tamiya have introduced the new Plasma Edge II gunmetal Edition. Based on the TT-02B shaft-driven 4WD chassis that offers hassle-free assembly and maintenance, as well as superb controllability, the suspension setup uses 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension with long arms, plus black CVA oil shock units, giving the car assured handling, while left/right suspension arms and uprights are identical to facilitate hassle-free assembly. Front/rear gearboxes include 4-bevel differentials for smooth operation, and are sealed to ensure that dust can’t get inside. The top can be removed simply by loosening a few screws, making maintenance a breeze. Four different gear ratios can be applied with the use of three separately-sold types of pinion gear, allowing you to match the characteristics of your car setup to the conditions at any given time. Of course, this off-road chassis also includes receiver case and motor cover to protect them from dirt and debris thrown up off of the track.

Coming soon from Tamiya is the new Super Storm Dragon 2WD buggy. Popularised by the legendary RC manga “RC Boy”, The Super Dragon buggy that appeared in 1986 and 34 years later he is back as the Super Storm Dragon. Basically, the body was released as a spare body at the time and now it comes with the Hornet chassis that was adopted when the manga first appeared. It was the model that became the origin of the dragon series that followed Fire, Thunder, and Saint. The body is pre-painted and pre-cut, and comes in combination with a simple and easy-to-assemble chassis.
