Panther sign Amezcua for R&D

travis_amezcua

Panther Tires is a company we’ve not seen or heard much from in the last few years, the company which once upon a (long) time ago threatened the likes of Pro-Line & JConcepts since faded away from the competition side of things, opting to focus on short course tyres, that might be about to change as the company have announced they have a new R&D manager – Travis Amezcua.

Despite being based in Riverside California its a rare occasion where Panther tyres are seen on the California racing scene, Panther will surely be looking to Amezcua to try and rebuilt it’s name and fortunes.

“Travis is a seasoned racing professional and we look forward to working with him in developing new tire designs for Panther.”

Nielsen wins Exeter Summer Nats

Nielsen dominates Exeter Summer NatsDoug “Casper” Nielsen recently attended the Exeter Hobbies 2013 Summer Nationals which was a race put on by the Cutler-Orosi Youth Program sending proceeds to a good cause. Racers attended from all over the central California valley to support the event, a good turnout with 10 heats of racing made for a relaxed fun day of racing. Casper showed up to the event with his Panther Tire shod Tekin/Venom powered TLR 22-SCT and TLR Ten-SCTE 2.0 ready for action.

Casper was able to dominate qualifying taking top starting spots in both the Modifed 2wd SC and Expert 4wd SC classes showing his Panther Tires traction was going to be the combination to beat. As the mains were setup Casper took his TQ starting spot for the 7 min “A” mains and as the tone went off Casper got out to clean start and pulled away with the win running consistent laps in both classes and having the only 4wd SC truck to break into the 12 second lap times.

Panther wins at Matt Gerald Benefit

This past weekend Revolution Raceway in Appleton, WI hosted a benefit race for one of Panther Tyres local racers, Matt Gerald. Matt was severely injured (broke his back) while racing his off-road buggy at the Red Bud MX track. Being a long time racer at the track, Revolution hosted a benefit to help him with his recovery. There were three full heats of 4×4 SCT which included Matt Gerald himself! The top three guys were the same all day long. Panther Tyres Jason Pietsch ended up qualifying 2nd going into the A-main.
