Parks & Walji win at WORS Rd5

Fifth round of the Canadian Western Offroad Racing Series was held this past weekend. In 4WD Buggy, Paul Parks (XRAY) was able to sweep all three rounds of qualifying to secure TQ. A1 started out with a 4 way battle for the lead. After the 2 minute mark P.Parks was able to stretch a 2 second lead and secure the win. For A2 he made a couple of changes which proved very good. The race started out much the same as A1, P.Parks put his head down and started putting in consistent quick laps he was able to win A2 and secure the overall win. Jeff Cohen (HB Racing) in 2nd and Jason Tellstone in 3rd completed the top 3.

Gil Losi Jr. is back to TLR & Losi

Horizon Hobby have announced that Gil Losi Jr. has returned to consult with Team Losi Racing and the Losi development team. G.Losi Jr. will work closely with the race team to produce innovative vehicles as well as supporting design on the Losi side of the business.

“As one of the living legends in the RC community, he has immediate credibility with retailers and consumers alike, and his experience, insight and creativity will help us produce amazing new vehicles for both Losi and Team Losi Racing,” said Horizon Hobby President Chris Dickerson. “We are excited to once again have him on our Horizon team!”

Stefan Lutka doubles at Dirt Challenge

The Dirt Challenge was held near Bratislava, Slovakia this past weekend. The weather forecast saw windy and gloomy conditions. In the E-buggy class, Stefan Lutka (XRAY), coming from the 4th spot on the grid, managed to win all finals with a big lead in front of Sando Parr (Serpent) in second and Ellemer Pap (Mugen) in third. In E-truggy, S.Lutka easily won, followed by Fusek and Moravcik in second and third respectively.

Hupo Hönigl doubles at Austrian 1/10 Buggy Nats Rd4

The fourth round of the Austrian 1/10 Buggy Nationals was held on the Astro-turf track of the MAC Traiskirchen over the weekend. Weather conditions were changing with rain all Saturday and then more dry conditions on Sunday. In Qualifying it was a fight between Peter Pinisch (Team Associated) and Hupo Hönigl (XRAY) in both classes. In the end it was H.Honigl who set the overall TQ in both classes. Lukas Grainer (XRAY) joined the club which made it a tight 3-way battle in both 2WD and 4WD finals. Finally, H.Honigl brought home the win in both classes, followed by L.Grainer in second and P.Pinisch in 4WD and by P.Pinisch and L.Grainer in 2WD.

Alain Sarafyan doubles at Turkish 1/8 Buggy Nats Rd4

The fourth round of the Turkish 1/8 Buggy Championships was held at the renewed RC park track in Luleburgaz. Alain Sarafyan (XRAY) was the man to beat, taking the win in both the Nitro Buggy and E-buggy classes. His teammate, Serkan Tumer came in second and Can Soykal in third in Nitro Buggy while in E-buggy it was Ilker Ozcan who finished in second and S.Tumer in third.

RDRP B74 aluminium bellcrank arm

Revolution Design Racing Products have introduced a new aluminium bellcrank arm for the Team Associated B74. Machined from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium and coming black anodised for wear and looks, the bellcrank arm offers improved strength and greater durability as it replaces the somewhat weak original carbon fibre part that can break in heavy crashes or when touching track boards. The arm mimics the original steering geometry and it comes with machined silver edge details for factory looks. The aluminium bellcrank arm is a direct replacement for the standard carbon fibre part.

SWORKz S35-3 “Ready to Mount” body

SWORKz have introduced a new “Ready to Mount” body for the S35-3 and S35-3E. The body comes pre-cut and pre-painted and need just some additional cutting (tank & head cooler) if you use it on the S35-3 Nitro Buggy. Decal sheet and the front nose are included.

Vanderbeek & Fuller win at ROAR Region 8 Champs

The ROAR Region 8 1/8 Buggy championships was held at the LRT Raceway and Hobby track in Evansdale, Iowa over the weekend. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class, Alex Vanderbeek (Team Associated/REDS Racing/Jconcepts) took the overall TQ and brought home the win in front of Mason Fuller (TLR/REDS Racing/Jconcepts) in second and Jared Wiggins (Tekno RC/BLOK Engines/Pro Line Racing) in third. In the E-buggy class it was M.Fuller who took the win after battling with Jared Wiggins (Tekno RC/Tekin/Pro Line Racing) to the end. Danny Bartholomew (Tekno RC/Pro Line Racing) rounded out the top 3.
