Rodriguez full of Spirit

Hobbytech RCThe past weekend there was a practice day at the Montpellier track ahead of the Grand Prix due to be held their in mid-February. Hobbytech’s newest team driver Nico Rodriguez was there putting the Sprit buggy through it’s paces as well as getting in some practice with his 2011 package; engine power from RB and grip courtesy of ProCircuit tyres. Designer of the Spirit buggy; Stephane Mateo was also on hand at the practice day to oversee the progress. Q&A with Hobbytech’s Nico Rodriguez

Hobbytech RCHaving only signed highly-rated French driver Nicolas Rodriguez at the end of last week, Hobbytech have sent us a re-introduction to the French racer in the form of a question and answer session.

Hi Nicolas, we learn recently your new deal with Hobbytech, so you are the first international driver of the brand. Introduce yourself ! What were your motivations to join Hobbytech ?
Nicolas Rodriguez, 34 years old, i live in Marseille, south of France, where the sun is always shine and we can drive all seasons. So, I’ve change my car after a short time with Serpent Cobra because I’ve a new opportunity of Hobbytech with an interresting challenge and a team over motivated, dynamic, ambitious with many projects.

What are your car’s feeling ? What are specifications of the Spirit ?
About the Spirit, after just a day of training, I was convinced by the car. Immediatly, i had an easy car, great steering lock, more grip and easy driving. The maintenance is easily, is very important in competition. Hobbytech is a french brand so it’s very important for me.

Hobbytech signs Rodriguez

HOBBYTECH have enlisted top French driver Nicolas Rodriguez for the 2011 season. Taking 2nd at the Euros in 2005, winner of the Pierrefeu GP, Montpellier GP and 2008 French Cup Rodriguez is one of the highest rated drivers in France.

Hobbytech @ Nuremberg

Hobbytech RCHobbytech RC have been in touch to announce that they will be present at the Nuremberg toy fair, 3rd-8th Feb showing off their new Spirit Buggy and other products. They will be located in Hall 7A at stand F-134.

Hobbytech Spirit Buggy Shipping

Hobbytech RCHobbytech sent us the following photo last night – the Spirit buggys have landed and is now available! Hobbytech’s own Thomas Weberman was in high spirits telling us that they would be putting in a night shift to get the orders our to distributors and customers in time. Perhaps also to try and beat the current wintry weather Europe is experiencing!

Spirit Details

Hobbytech’s new Spirit buggy had its worldwide release on November 15th – just in time for the winter rush of racers looking at what to pick for the 2011 season. As mentioned before the buggy is a complete re-work from the forerunner and Hobbytech have told us they have spent significant time on finding the best quality materials for the car and are delighted with the end product.
