FTW Phoenix for Mugen MBX6T

Fearless combination of divergent elements is the modus operandi of FTW’s renegade design team. It comes as no surprise then that when handed a truggy and blank check , the result was Phoenix—pure performance packaged in sinister chopped-top styling. Convention-defying style integrates an industry-standard downforce profile for the one-two punch of form and function that is standard-issue FTW. Every chassis make is critically evaluated during the body design process in order to achieve performance beyond the acceptable. To reduce the tendency for body disintegration caused by the recessed front body mount location of the MBX6T, this Phoenix version is equipped with a kit that raises the front body mounts, allowing for a sleek and smooth hood area.

FTW’s Night Fox for Xray XB9 ’13

Performance packaged in convention-smashing style defines FTW’s philosophy. The iconic Night Fox design has illustrated this while winning races across the globe. Xray’s XB9 2013 is the latest beneficiary. Tailored to fit the 2013 Spec’s wider chassis, the newest Night Fox features a suite of refinements that take the tradition to new heights. Sculpted sidepods and an additional 6 degrees of rake to the windshield combine for improved airflow. The rear deck height has been lowered to expose more of the engine head and integrate a spoiler while preserving the fastback profile.

New FTW upgrades for MBX7

After topping off the MBX7 with a Night Fox body shell, the FTW R&D team set to work on chassis improvements for the world champion buggy. Creating genuine quasi-isotropic carbon fiber replacement shock towers was a good first step, but they went further, adding more camber link tuning positions on the rear tower. Weak links must be banished, so next a carbon fiber upper plate was designed to replace the stock plastic piece. The front shock tower is precision CNC-cut in the USA from 4mm thick genuine quasi-isotropic carbon fiber, weighs 14 grams, and maintains all factory mounting and adjustment holes. Read More…

FTW Racing Components is pleased to present the Agama community with a Night Fox tailored specifically for the A8 buggy. The signature Night Fox shape exudes stealth and performance–form and function that defy convention. Testing proved that not only does it perform well, it looks great on the podium too. FTW Rocks Tekno

FTW Racing Components today introduced Exabyte, the only purpose-built body for the Tekno V4 conversions. Sleek styling belies Exabyte’s spacious interior, with clearance for 50mm tall LiPos and large ESCs. Intakes direct cool air toward the ESC while the rear of the body is open to evacuate hot air. For optimum fit, Exabyte is available in two versions to fit the body mounts of the most popular Tekno conversions—the Mugen MBX6 and the Hot Bodies D8. Both fit all Tekno V4 conversions when secured by Velcro in lieu of the body mounts.

“Considering the popularity of the Tekno conversions this is long overdue,” said FTW co-founder John Riewe about the Exabyte. “No longer will an ill-fitting body designed for another marque have to suffice.” In discussing the design process for the body, co-founder Joshua Riewe explained that “designing around a big LiPo and ESC is a challenge, especially if the goal is to create a design that is functional yet is simultaneously an expression of the creative styling trademark of FTW. We believe we have achieved that goal.”

Exabyte for Tekno V4/MBX6 and Tekno V4/D8 are molded from clear .040” polycarbonate and come in clear with a protective film and molded cut lines. Window masks and decal sheets are included.

FTW MBX6R ‘Night Fox’ body

FTW have introduced their new ‘stealth-inspired’ body dubbed the ‘Night Fox’ for Mugen’s MBX6R buggy.
With the Night Fox for MBX6R we’ve maintained all that has made the Night Fox series popular—the stability and downforce it adds to the handling of the car, the quality, durability, and of course the stealth-inspired styling. The Night Fox’s low roof line leaves more of the engine head exposed for better cooling without making the car look like a truck” said FTW co-founder John Riewe.
