Alpha Dragon-IV Edition-2 nitro engine

Alpha Plus Engines have introduced the new Dragon-IV Edition-2 nitro engine for 1/8th Buggy. Long-tested last season by the Factory team, the Dragon-IV Edition-2 differs from its predecessor by the use of the V2 carburetor and the back plate, the combo offering positive feedbacks and great results. Compared to the first edition, the Dragon-IV Edition-2 nitro engine provides a more linear throttle feeling and longer mileage. The power plant is available separately or as combos, the IVBC-CB combo coming with the EFRA 2134 pipe, a manifold, a spark plug, mounting springs and a high-quality silicone gasket while the IVBC-CB4S and IVBC-CB4ST include in addition a 4-shoe clutch.

Alpha Dragon IV ‘injector’ backplate

Alpha Plus Engines have introduced the new ‘injector’ backplate. Designed to be use with the Dragon III, IV, GT, and GT-R range of engines, the backplate helps the fuel flow from the crankcase to the combustion chamber by pulsing fuel through the backplate in a more effective way. The result is a much quicker return to idle as well as an improvement of fuel efficiency.

Alpha ‘fuel efficient’ 7.5mm carburetor

Alpha Plus Engines have introduced a new ‘fuel efficient’ 7.5mm carburetor for the Dragon III, IV, GT, GT-R range of engines. Developed to offer extended run time and even smoother throttle control, it features a 7.5mm bore size.

Alpha appoint Jon Dell as European Team Manager

Alpha have announced the signing of Jon Dell as their European Team Manager. J.Dell brings over 13 years of experience of being a mechanic and pitting for some of the UK’s top drivers. J.Dell was instrumental in the support for those he represented and was in the pit lane for 2 IFMAR Worlds finals, 5 EFRA European finals as well as countless BRCA UK National A finals too. For the last two seasons, Jon has led the UK based Alpha team drivers, with many A finals along the way and regularly succeeding in getting more Alpha powered cars into the main finals than any other brand on nearly all occasions. Jon will be taking care of the European Alpha team drivers and working with the distributors alongside the individual team manager in each country also, at all European events and will also assist with the tuning and development of Alpha engines during the course of the coming 2020 season and beyond.

Felipe Martinez doubles at Ensenada Series Rd6

The sixth round of the Ensenada Series was held at the Las Palmas R/C Race track in Ensenada, Mexico. Felipe Martinez (TLR/Alpha Engines/AKA) was the kid to beat. he won both the Buggy and Truggy classes. In the 25-minute Nitro Buggy final, F.Martinez took the win by 2 laps from Juan Pablo Preciado in second and Ruben Mosqueda Jr in third. F.Martinez brought home the win in the 20-minute Nitro Truggy final some three laps in front of Rafael Villa and R.Mosqueda Jr in second and third respectively.

Paphon Chanyasak wins at New RC Club Race Champs Rd1

The first round of the 2019 New RC Club Race Championship was held at the New RC Thailand Circuit in Bangkok. Paphon Chanyasak (Mugen) took the win in the 45-minute Nitro Buggy final by one lap from Gamee Mongkolphan (Mugen) in second and Meen Meen in third two laps down.

Neil Cragg sweeps EMAS Series Rd3

The third round of the EMAS Series was held at the Deerdale Off Road Track in UK over the weekend in pretty cold condition. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Neil Cragg (Team Associated) who set the overall TQ after the rounds of qualifying. In the 15 minutes final N.Cragg brought home the win from the Team Associated duo of Lewis Jones and Dave Bailey in second and third respectively.

Gianmarco Franzolini wins at Alpe Adria Champs

A round of the Alpe Adria international championship was held at the Modellbuggygruppe Dellach/Gail track in Austria. Gianmarco Franzolini would take the overall TQ. The 30-minute A-main was a pretty clean affair for the top qualifier as Franzolini was able to bring home the win some two laps ahead of Erik Klanjšček with Robert Linder rounding out the podium in third.
