The 2020 Tennessee State Championships were held at the Rocck Racing track located inside the Knoxville Zoo, in a covered but open sided building. The main focus for the racers will be to find the best tires as it was expected to rain and be cold as predicted by Saturday’s weather forecast. Adam Johnson (XRAY/Picco/Tekin/AKA) took the overall TQ in the Pro Nitro Buggy and E-buggy classes from the XRAY duo of Paul Ciccarello (XRAY/Picco/VP Fuels/Hobbywing/JConcepts) and Brad Collins (XRAY/VP PowerMaster Fuel) in 2nd and 3rd in both classes. B.Collins was also able to TQ the 4WD Buggy class. In the Pro Nitro buggy main A.Johnson got out to an early lead again, while P.Ciccarello and B.Collins had a great battle until B.Collins had a flame out. A.Johnson was able to build up almost a two lap lead when about 2-minute to go he had a mechanical issue which allowed P.Ciccarello to pass him on the last lap to take the win and become the 2020 Pro Nitro Buggy State Champion. A.Johnson came in second and William Mciver (Serpent/Ultimate Engines/VP Pro) in third.

In the E-buggy main A. Johnson got out to an early lead, was uncontested for the win and earned his first Tennessee State Championship. P.Ciccarello had a few bobbles early but was able to rebound to finish second while Jonah Wilson (Team Associated) came in third. B.Collins brought home the win and was crowned as Champion. J.Wilson and Damon Evans (Team Associated/JConcepts) completed the podium results.
