The U.S. Open Fuel Championship was held at the Sun City R/C Raceway in Canutillo, Texas. The popular event attracted 115 entries and a few of top gun such as Ty Tessmann (XRAY/O.S.Engines/Pro-Line Racing) and Jared Tebo (Tekno RC/Maxima Mx/AKA). In the Nitro Buggy class it was T.Tessmann who set the overall TQ while in E-buggy it was Ryan Maifield (Mugen Seiki/Performa Racing/JConcepts) who took the TQ. T.Tessmann brought home the win in the 45-minute nitro buggy final from J.Tebo in second and Spencer Heckert (HB Racing/Performa Racing/Pro-Line Racing) in third. Tanner Denney (TLR/Bullitt/Pro-Line Racing) in 4th and Chris Boice (Team Associated/Reedy/Pro-Line Racing) in 5th rounded out the top 5.


In the single 10-minute final in E-Buggy it was again T.Tessmann (XRAY/Hobbywing/Pro-Line Racing) with the win in front of J.Tebo (Tekno RC/Maclan/AKA) in 2nd and S.Heckert in 3rd while Brandon Rose (Serpent/Tekin/Pro-Line Racing) came in 4th and R.Maifield in 5th.
