The third round of the 2019 SBS 1/10 EP Malaysian Major League was held over the weekend in perfect weather conditions despite the constant rain leading up to race day. This round welcomed a new class, the 1/10 Rallycross. The race format was two rounds of qualifying and 4 finals where the best 3 finishes would determine the overall position and the tie breaker would be the qualifying position. The 2WD class saw a battle between Bashir (Team Associated) and Shahrin (XRAY). Bashir took the overall TQ and won 1 out of 3 Mains while Shahrin grabbed two wins so Bashir needed to win the fourth Main to secure the overall win from the tie-breaker. A big tumble on the straigh while leading almost cost Bashir the title but he managed to get back and finished ahead of Shahrin. Bashir took the wi from Shahrin in second and Shafiq (XRAY) in third.

This round saw a relatively big turn out in the 4WD class with 20 drivers. Round 1 winner Jade Lim (Team Associated) wasn’t there in the second round but he was back this round. After qualifying in 3rd, he had to get to work to try to challenge Bashir who set the TQ from Shahrin. After two Mains, Bashir and J.Lim secured 1 win each which meant if Bashir won the 3rd main, he would be the overall winner. Bashir did just that and he took the overall win by the 3rd Main. Bashir brought home the win from J.Lim in second and Kent Sung (Tekno RC ) in third.

In the Short Course, it was a close and exciting battle between previous rounds winners Hakeem (Intech) and Boy Hazlyne (TLR). Both won 2 mains, with Hakeem being the winner as he TQ’d in qualifying. Azman Azam (TLR) rounded out the top 3.

In the 1/10 Rallycross, the track layout is altered slightly to bypass the crossovers. The cars were all Tamiyas (TT01, XV01) which did suprisingly well on the turf surface. Shem who took the win in front of Wak Rose in second and Azman Azam in third.
