Round 5 and the top guns were up at 10:30, heat 1 experiencing a dry track, and heat 2 just after a blow off and water, pundits divided on what was favourable.. The temperatures are finally coming up for those of us with only shorts and sunnies packed and that has started to take it’s toll on the track with it drying out faster.

Heat 1 witnessed Ongaro going quickest, the quiet Italian re-finding his pace and above all consistency that saw him leave many spellbound during practice. Despite a couple of errors he went top infront of a revived Robert Batlle whilst Ty Tessmann leading during the middle part of the race had a bit of an unusual run for him with a couple of errors but with a string of consistent results he looks likely to at least start on pole for a semi final. After a duff day yesterday David Ronnefalk did the job he had suggested and TQ’d by 2.5 secs ahead of Ongaro, a couple of troubles with the top corner table top step off along with plenty of other drivers but banked needed points after his two throwouts yesterday – 4 from 6 rounds count. A strong run for Spencer Rivkin taking 3rd, underlining the Associated team’s pace it would suggest whilst CJ Jelin ended up top XRAY, not so for Elliott Boots who would see his car unfortunately carried off the track after starting out well.
