Davide Ongaro would continue the form he showed at the Euros this summer, when he dominated qualifying, the young Italian star causing a lot of jaws trackside to drop in unison as he muscled his Associated car round the track to lower the benchmark set by Ty Tessmann in round 2 by over a second despite the track just having been blown off and watered. Despite the evening temps, Ryan Maifield gave it his all just barely missing out by 3/10ths over 3 laps, on the track only two heats afterwards, whilst Dakotah Phend’s round 1 time would stand up to 4th overall. Bruno Coelho looked punchy in 5th.
