Last weekend was held the third round of the M.K. Power Off-road Championship at the XMG track in Dongguan, Southern part of China, about 90km away from Hong Kong border. Racers from mainland China, Taiwan as well as Hong Kong racers attended the race. This dirt track was newly refreshed with new layout and expanded track size. Thanks for the additional continuous jumps on straight and large corner that make this new layout the toughest test for all racers and equipments. In the Nitro Buggy A-Main final Jonathan Yeung (Tekno) started in second and was able to take the lead in first lap but some minor mistakes push him back in third. The fight for first place was intense with the leader, Quan during the first 20 minutes and the time gap between the two cars was just about 1 sec. Quan suffered a flame-out just in front of the pit entry while he trying to get in pit to refuel. J.Yeung took this chance to take the lead and never look back and able to drive with his rhythm. He continue to extend the lead for the remaining 25min. At the end of 45min race, J.Yeung won the A Main final with 88 laps from Zhan in second 3 laps down and Quan in third another lap down.

In the Nitro Truggy class it was Carson Yeung (tekno) who took the TQ and A1 after 30 min race. The race between C.Yeung and Quan was intense for the first 15min. However, flame out of Quan’s car make comfortable margin for C.Yeung to win the race. Bobo came in third. After the 3 rounds Jonathan and Carson further extend their lead in M.K.Power Offroad Championship.

Thanks to Carson Yeung for the report.
