The 2018 Queensland State Championships were held at the Pine Hills Dirt Racing over the weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Kyle McBride (Team Associated) who took the TQ and started on pole position for the 45 minutes final. The final was held in difficult conditions and McBride started badly with some crashes that had him dead last, a half lap behind the leaders. But McBride put his head down and fought his way back to the front to take the win in front of Aaron Stringer (Mugen) in second while Mitch Steer (Mugen) came in third.
