Last weekend was held the annual Omer Cup at the Omer Ring racing track near Tel Aviv in fantastic weather conditions. Top drivers all over the country attended the event held in both 1/8 Nitro buggy and E-buggy. After three qualification rounds Yaniv Sivan took the TQ honor in both classes.

Nitro buggy:

In the 30-minute final Sivan started strong and open a gap on the rest of the field. Avitan made a small mistake and dropped down but he managed to get back quickly in the front of the race. Unfortunately at the 5-minute mark Sivan had a technical issue which cause him to quit, allowing Avitan to be first. Despite two flame outs Avitan managed to win from Siles and Maymon in second and third respectively.



The 7-minute A1 final started while Sivan took the lead from beginning, meanwhile Ofir Avitan, Tal Siles and Aviv Maymon fought for the second spot. Siles who was in second had an electric issue and had to quit. Sivan finished first in front of Avitan and Maymon. In A2 Sivan took an early lead followed by Avitan and Siles but at 4-minute mark Sivan had also an electric issue and haad to stop. Avitan won the leg followed by Maymon and Arie Itskovich. A3 will be decisive to know the winner between Sivan and Avitan. Sivan, Avitan, Maymon and Siles fought from the start for first place. After few laps Sivan opened a gap on Maymon and Avitan were fighting for the second spot. Sivan won the final from Maymon and Avitan. After the three A finals Sivan took the win with two wins out of three, in front of Avitan in second and Maymon in third.
