The first round of the XRS Austria was held at Carpet Brothers track located in Leopoldsdorf in the east of Vienna. The small and very technical permanent track was a challenge for everybody and a lot of locals were very fast. The finals, as expected were really eventful and hectic with 10 cars on the small track. In the first 2wd A main XRAY’s Hupo Hönigl made a small mistake and fell back to third. Hupo followed for a while Peter Lonscar and Lucas Grainer were battling for the lead for a couple of laps until they came together and then there was complete chaos in the next two corners with six cars involved. Lucas took the win in A1 from Peter finishing. A2 and A3 were almost identical but this time Hupo could build a good lead and win the race in front of Lucas in second and Peter in third.

4wd mains have been even more eventful, also as expected, than the 2wd mains. Also a couple of drivers broke their cars during the finals and a lot of shock oil was spilled on the track and the traction went from really high to super low, which was no fun anymore in the finals. In these difficult conditions Hupo managed to take the win in A1 and his team mate Adam Izsay grabbed the A2. In A3 Adam was very fast but luckily for Hupo he made some mistakes and handed him the win. Roland Hauleitner in third rounded out the top3.
