The Dirt Bureau International 2017 opening race was held over the weekend. Over 70 racers from Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, HongKong and many local racers from host country Malaysia attended the event alongside Pro Racer, Multiple-Time Finland National Champion and JQ Products manufacturer Joseph Quagraine. The event started with the new management team of Cynthia Lye and Kelvin Yong welcoming the racers followed by the official launch of the first Malaysian RC Academy by JQ cutting the “ribbon” with his dremel. Facilities at The Dirt Bureau includes an 8th Scale & 10th Scale Off Road Track, a RC Academy, Pop Up Retail Outlets and a Trackside Diner. Currently two 4×4 on course training tracks and an international archery range is being constructed.

The weather held up to a blue grooved 3D signature 8th scale off-road track, as players focused to master the brand new layout with lots of undulation, high speed berms, rhythmic quad doubles, tricky table tops and big airtime from the jumps. Local young drivers Danny Kato & Jade Lim together with top Indonesian drivers Adrian Wicaksono, Jason Nugroho and the rest all ran a fast paced race but it was JQ’s consistency and experience that prevailed. JQ’s Joseph Quagraine took the win in front of Mugen driver Adrian Wicaksonoin second and Tekno driver Danny Kato in third. XRAY’s Jason Nugroho and Tekno’s Jade Lim in fourth and fifth respectively rounded out the top 5.

Thanks to Kelvin Yong for the report.
