Round 3 of the 2017 JConcepts Indoor Nationals Series was held this past weekend at Hobby Action Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. This first class facility opened just a few short months ago and has everything from a fully stocked hobby shop, spacious pit area, along with the perfect size 1/10 off-road track!

In the 4wd Modified Buggy class, Team Orion’s Ty Tessmann would start on the second grid spot with his Ryan Maifield starting third. In A-Main #1, Tessmann would finish a close 2nd behind Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri. In A-Main #2, Tessmann took the convincing win while also being the only driver to make it by for the extra lap and giving him a good shot at the overall title. In A-Main #3, Tessmann would finish a very close second behind Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin. Tessmann & Rivkin would both tie for the overall Win from there 2 best finishes. Ty Tesmmann would Win the tie breaker based on laps and times as he was the only driver to make the extra lap in his A-Main two win.

In the 2wd Modified Short Course class, Dakotah Phend would dominate qualifying to take the overall TQ honors. Dakotah would then have an EPIC 8-minute single A-Main battle with Spencer Rivkin where both drivers would never be more than 5 feet apart during the entire race. When the checkered flag waived, it was Dakotah Phend taking the impressive win. Both Tessmann and Phend use the Team Orion’s new HMX ESC.
