Q5 E-Buggy E-Buggy Overall E-Buggy Finals setup

Ryan Maifield upset the oddsmakers by snatching TQ in the dying moments of nitro qualifying at this year’s NEO Race as Jared Tebo’s run in qualifying was dented slightly after yesterday’s two TQs and a 2nd. Tied on points, Maifield’s throwout result (271) proved stronger than Tebo’s (265) and thus gave ‘man of the moment’ Maifield the headlines after qualifying.

Neo Newbie Spencer Rivkin is so far on for a great Neo debut and is sits 3rd in the overall standings, just missing the TQ in round 4 – the young AE driver making up after missing out last year. 2015 Champion Ryan Cavalieri is fourth, slowly but steadily working his way up throughout qualifying, keeping his head down going into the main day.

You have to go look to fifth to find the first European driver in the quali standings, 2x Euro Champ Elliott Boots sitting 5th, whilst World Champion David Ronnefalk is the 4th JConcepts driver in the top 6. Sitting in 8th behind Dash 4 Cash Champion and round 4 TQ Ryan Lutz is Marco Baruffolo – the surprise package of qualifying, having 2 great opening rounds he eventually faded in Q3 and 4 but managed to rescue his cause to keep his fellow countryman Alex Zanchettin behind him, with Infinity’s Lee Martin running the HB car rounding up the top 10.

Riccardo Berton is 11th, whilst Reno Savoya in 12th is another driver slightly under the radar, a disappointing event so far for 2014 Champ Ty Tessmann, who looked very racy in the Dash 4 Cash despite missing out on the podium in the end, the young Canadian is sure to flex his muscles come mains time. 14th sees another Neo newcomer in Juan Carlos Canas, the Modelix Racing-backed Spaniard impressing infront of Junior Champion Davide Ongaro crowned last night.

Ronnefalk on point in Modeltune E-Buggy

The Modeltune E-Buggy class saw the fight for TQ over after 4 rounds of 5, defending Champion David Ronnefalk taking TQs in Q1, Q3 and Q4. Ryan Maifield proved once again to be in fine form in this start of the 2017 season taking second overall after TQ’ing Nitro, with Ty Tessmann finishing third, making up for a sub-par Nitro qualifying.

Another two drivers to shine in the E-Buggy class despite not doing great in the Nitro section of the race was Bloomfield and Bayer, respectively 4th and 5th.
