The SoCal Nitro Shootout was held at the Pro-Line facility in Banning, California over the weekend with the event having over 204 entries. Originally scheduled for Chula Vista (Heritage Park Raceway), the race moved to the Pro-Line track after the closing of that track. Mugen’s Adam Drake would take the overall TQ in Pro Buggy while HB Racing’s Cody King took the TQ in Pro Truggy. Cody had totally checked out in both buggy and Truggy and was pretty much up stoppable until mechanical failures took him out. In truggy, Drake was able to bring home the win ahead of Tekno’s Carlos Arredondo with HB Racing driver Tyler Brown rounding out the podium in third. In buggy Adam had a rough start which took him almost down to dead last off the start and he worked his way back and and took the win from Team Associated’s Dayton Brown in second and his teammate Richard Saxton in third.
