Many drivers attended the race with among them David Ronnefalk, the 2016 1/8 Nitro Buggy World Champ, Atsushi Hara 2008 1/8 Buggy World Champ and current FEMCA champ, Shin Adachi, Paphon Chanyasak (2016 FEMCA 2nd & 3rd), German Champion, Jorn Neumann and also a strong Indonesian contingent and of course regular drivers from Singapore and Malaysia.
Following the rounds of qualifying Team Orion’s David Ronnefalk took easely the overall TQ. The A Main Finals was run on a well grooved track. The race started with Hara on pole and led the race for 2/3 of lap 1 when a mistake allowed Ronnefalk to take the lead. The final was an exciting 3 way battle between Ronnefalk, Hara and Neumann which saw the lead change numerous times. Eventually Ronnefalk prevailed and crossed the finish line first, followed closely by Hara and Neumann.
“After about 8 months of ups and downs I finished off 2016 in the best possible way – Euro win, Worlds win and a win here in Malaysia today! Huge thanks to the big boss Mr. Dato for everything, couldn’t be happier than I am to have joined your race for a great cause. Seeing your emotions when donating money to children without parents here in Malaysia was very touching. Thank you once again! Also big thanks to all my sponsors as usual, I have a feeling that 2k17 will be an amazing year👊 See you at the tracks! ” – David Ronnefalk.
