In what can only be described as a déjà vu moment for the Swedish star, David Ronnefalk suffered further equipment failure – this time at the Swedish Cup event in Höör, Southern Sweden – the 2nd consecutive event with problems after the disappoint at the Euros where one of his servos overheated whilst leading forcing retirement.

Ronnefalk bemoaned his continued bad luck in a Facebook post, with 10 mins left all four tyres began to fail at the same time – not coming unglued but a quadruple bead separation / tear of his AKA rubber according to photos.

The domestic Swedish Cup event was a must win after only being able to attend two of three of the events, however with a solid lead Ronnefalk would lose almost a lap during the last 5 mins as he struggled his way to the finish line to claim a valiant yet disappointing 2nd behind rising female star Jessica Pålsson, taking her maiden overall cup victory.

AKA in the spotlight

With title aspirations at the looming World Championships in October in Vegas the 5x Euros polesitter is one of only 3 AKA-sponsored drivers (Cavalieri, Lutz the other two) ranked within the Top 25 Rankings, rivals Pro-Line dominate the list with 14 whilst JConcepts also have 3 drivers including top ranked Ryan Maifield.

Whilst finishing 2nd at the rain-shortened warm up back in May, Ronnefalk will be hoping his luck changes and the rubber holds together as they head to the Casino Capital for the Worlds in October.
