Novarossi unveiled the new P5 XLT 16 nitro engine at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair. The sleeve has 5 transfer ports to supply a linear power output and to keep fuel consumption low while the crankshaft is manufactured with a larger bore intake to increase the mixture flow and has a special shape to optimise gas-flows in the engine. The P5 XLT 16 is also equipped with the R7 conrod is made from a superlight aluminium which has been checked ultrasonic. The specific form of the R7 creates little turbulence inside the engine while running.

The rear cover presents a round shape to optimize the filling and reducing the dead spaces. the steel plate is to reduce friction and to expand the lifespan of the conrod. The carburetor is made from plastic and have a sliding throttle valve (reverse type). This new three tuning needles gives a better idle and improves the ability of the engine to return to low rpm after throttling. The combustion chamber is supported by an O-Ring which is placed between the combustion chamber and the crankcase to reduce the vibrations of the combustion chamber. The glowplug is a Turbo type glowplug.
