The reversed order of the 5th and final round of qualifying saw David Ronnefalk up first in heat 5, only him or Elliott Boots had a shot at overall TQ – Robert Batlle’s throwouts not mounting up to enough points. Ronnefalk set the benchmark with a 07.448, having had a slight sticky moment on a pipe, Elliott was up next and had a clear run apart from a minor moment where he had to be marshalled – rather speedily in fact, by none other than David Ronnefalk himself, good to see sportsmanship amongst drivers, friends and rivals on track.

Elliott went quickest assuming TQ for Q5 and securing himself as overall TQ at the Euros. Boots team naturally happy with their man’s qualifying efforts – last up however was Robert Batlle in heat 1, with more or less nothing to lose he put on a consummate display of driving, beating Boots’ time by 1.4 secs, having a few bobbles and wheelie moments along the way but matching his 05 Q3 time once again.
