A3 of 4WD wasn’t quite as eventful as the race before it, but it started out with Carson Wernimont followed by Kody Numedahl both breaking their cars in the same part of the track in isolated incidents, Wernimont made it back but not so for Kody. As the tone went off Neumann led the pack around, Phend got turned upside down on the uphill section and would never quite recover, upfront Tebo had 2nd however his car jumped sideways over a small double, landed off guard and allowed A2 rival Maifield to catch up a bit too much in the twisty infield, Maifield tagged Tebo’s rear wing but came off worse allowing both Tessmann and Cavalieri past, Tebo’s woes continued however as his car seemed to lose power (due to a broken slipper shaft) followed by him pulling off and retiring to a sad end.
Already this had given Neumann a solid 2 sec cushion to Tessmann, with Maified getting past Cavalieri, Maifield proceeded to hunt down and hustle Tessmann, the duo essentially fighting for the overall win, whoever finished 2nd would win 4WD. Maifield managed to find a way past as Tessmann turned in a fraction too early in the uphill as Maifield swept past on the inside, Tessmann tried to carry a bit more speed tagging the Associated from behind without any success.
It would finish a comfortable win for Jorn Neumann in A3 and the Championship once again going to Ryan Maifield.
