Makin' Noise: Dylan Gerard

Gerard tasted a bit of success earlier this year, capturing top ten finishes in both Pro Nitro and E-Buggy classes at the Pyscho Nitro Blast which gave him a surge of confidence. He recently picked up sponsorship from TLR and Horizon Hobbies, and has been hardcore prepping for larger regional and national events. This preparation was on display at the AMS 4.0 race this year, where Gerard had an awesome showing at his favorite race to-date, and had this to say about his weekend:

“My goal for this years’ AMS race was to qualify in the Amain in both Pro E-Buggy and Pro Nitro Buggy. I qualified third in E-buggy behind Ryan Lutz and Adam Drake. In A1, both Lutz and Drake bobbled early so I was able to take over the lead and hold it until the end, barely holding off Adam Drake and taking the win in A1! A2 was a different story unfortunately resulting in a DNF after an electronic issue and ended up 8th overall. I qualified 12th in Pro Nitro Buggy and after 45 minutes of battling with some of the fastest drivers in the country, I was able to finish 6th!

I would like to thank my sponsors for all their support: TLR, Horizon Hobby, Spektrum, Novarossi, AKA, Nitrotane, Avid RC, Dynamite, Rockfield RC, A-Main Bodies, The Ohio RC Factory and Upgrade RC. I would also like to give a special thanks to my Mom and Dad for their support and a huge thanks to Rockfield RC for helping me get to these big events. Without them and the rest of my sponsors, none of this would be possible. And also, thanks everyone back home that has helped me along the way!”

Being able to hold off a hard-charging Lutz and Drake is no easy task, and definitely qualifies Dylan Gerard as a blistering-fast Midwest local who’s Makin’ Noise.
