The 8th and final round of the National Kuwaiti championship was held last week on the RCCCK track in the very windy Kuwait city! The whole week saw great weather with warm temp until the race day! Everybody showed up to the track in light shirts and shorts and soon realized it was a mistake! Wind speed between 45-75Km/h turned the buggy/truggy races into a 3D flying competition! At 1400, the E class quals kicked off and many speed jumps were impossible to clear due to natural effects! Buggies would either hover in the air or over jump to the next section of the track! Careful driving was needed and that’s what (AKA-Ultimate-Avid-HES) driver Ali Bullail did to TQ the class and secure his P1 spot for the Amain.

The truggy quals was as always fun to watch! Did the big monsters conquer the wind? NO WAY and the real 3D competition started as we saw truggies flying sideways, upside down and outside the track! One guy seemed in total control and managed to run without issues! Prohobbies driver Abdulaziz Mohammed Took his Xray to secure the TQ honors of the class!

Pro buggy quals was a two way battle for the TQ spot! Abdulaziz Mohammed and Ali Bullail ran fast laps and were very close in the overall timing, at the end of the Quals, Abdulaziz was the fastest by 1 sec and secured the TQ spot for this prestigious class!

Sub finals derolled without delays or issues and the mains started with the E buggy class! Amain dominated with Ali Bullail from the beginning to the end! The race order hasn’t changed a lot as Nawaf Alabdulrazaq sat in close second followed by Derar al Rashaid, Ali Bullail drove a perfect race and managed to win the Amain with his Tekin powered Kyosho MP9e, followed by Nawaf Alabdulrazaq in 2nd with his Tekin powered Xray 808e and to complete the podium was Derar AlRashaid in 3rd with his Tekin powered Kyosho MP9e!

The truggy final saw pole man Abdulaziz have a clean start and nothing but the track in front of him! He kept his lead until a huge crash with a lapped car that flipped and landed in on straight! The moment Aziz’s truggy was at full speed going down the straight line! He retired immediately. Meshari Altarmoum took the lead followed by Nawaf and Mohammad Altarmoum only for another bad luck to strike the leader again! Meshari’s steering linkage popped out and lost a lap, his pitman managed to put it all back together and had him running aging but in 4th! Nawaf took the lead and drove an amazing race. No jinx for Nawaf and he continued his fast pace to win the race with his Werks powered Xray XT8 followed by Mohammed AlTarmoum with his Orion powered Kyosho ST-RR and in 3rd Meshari AlTarmoum with his Novarossi powered Kyosho ST-RR

The Pro buggy final started late at night and luckily the wind calmed down to normal speeds! Since it’s the last race of the season, the final was a 60min race! With the GO buzzer, Abdulaziz and Ali took of clean and fast and were battling it out for the lead! Abdulaziz took the lead for a while and then Ali managed to pass and lead for a while! Small bubbles and pit stops separated the two drivers! 40 minutes into the race, Ali Bullail took the lead for the last time and never looked back! At that time, all drivers were suffering from worn out front tyres and their pace dropped! Ali didn’t seem very effected by the tyre issue as we saw his fastest laps in the last quarter of the final! A strategy well played that made him increase his lead to 18 sec! At the end, it was (AKA-Ultimate-Avid-HES) driver Ali Bullail who won the long 60min final with his HES Novarossi powered Kyosho MP9 TKI3 followed by Prohobbies driver Abdulaziz Mohammad with his Werks powered Xray XB9 and Prohobbies owner Nawaf Alabdulrazaq in 3rd with his Werks powered Xray XB9!
