A total of 60 drivers made it out to MAC Brombachsee to compete for the chance to qualify for the German Nationals. However it was Modelix team driver, Hannes Käufler who took the win…

Qualifying got underway Saturday afternoon to see who made the most out of controlled practice. Stefan Byesse seemed to have the edge as he clinched TQ honours. In second young Max Stölzle, third was Thomas Passmann. Come the semi finals and the track was completely rutted up and drivers had to look for the best lines on the track. Not making any mistakes was crucial to bumping into the main as it was hard to make up any lost time. The final saw Andreas Ertl on pole position, Max Stölzle in second and Hannes Käufler third on the grid. As the tone went off and the first lap dust settled ít was Ertl, Käufler and Byesse who could open a gap in the field. Disaster soon struck for Ertl as he flamed out. This made it a two way battle between Käufler and Byesse who were never separated more then 3 or 4 seconds over the entire 30 minute race. Byesse pushed hard to force Käufler into a mistake but he kept his cool and took the win with 3 tenths of a second! Jiri Mara fought his way through the field to finish third. Read More…
