We’ve never covered any races in Vietnam, so its with great pleasure that we post the following report!
The event saw 35 entries in total with various chassis manufacturers being respresented in the ield, quali kicked off at 10 AM on Saturday March 26th with a loose and dusty track surface which began to improve and bed down as more cars ran. After qualifying Hoang Huynh put himself on TQ running the XRAY buggy with OS power. Report contributor Duy Bui continues, “Next up was the group B 30min race. It was a cracker of a race with drivers battling for the lead. The pits were just as busy due to multiple pit stops and numerous flame-outs. In the end it was Phanm Viet Quy taking 1st place with his O.S powered Hong Nor followed by Troung Trung Phong in 2nd with his MBX6 NINJA combination then Binh BD coming in 3rd with his RB powered MBX6.”
The A main saw early lead exchanges with drives taking precautions on the rutted track, top qualifiers Hoang Huynh established an early lead despite many drivers suffering from flame outs 30 minutes into the 45 minute main. Hoang Huynh would take the win with Duy Bui 2nd (XRAY/OS) and Tran Anh Vu 3rd (Mugen/Ninja).
The prizes were sponsored by Saigon RC INC and Radio Control Model World. They were given away by members of RCTB, our local and newly formed RC Racing Club.
