The first round of the Malaysia Thunder Tiger Cup took place last Sunday (27th March 2011) at the Niko Racing Circuit, Senai – Johor. A total of 60 drivers from Malaysia and Singapore attended the event. The race format was 3 rounds of 7 minutes qualifying and sub finals, Kyosho Malaysia driver David Lim took TQ and the only driver who made 15laps. It was a very hot day and humidity averaging at 43%, the track was extremely dusty, low traction and sharp stones were surfacing everywhere. It was definitely a challenge for both man and machine, unfortunately during the lower final thunder storm and heavy shower arrived. For the safety of everyone, the race organizer decided to call off the final, and by default the final standing was based on qualifying results. David was declared the A-main Champion!
