Over the weekend the first Grand Prix of Merignac was held with Agama driver Jerome Sartel taking the win. Merignac, located 10km from Bordeaux – a city and region world famous for wine production. We haven’t much more details apart from the race acting as a small prelude to this weekend’s Rd 1 French Nationals to be held in Pierrefeu in the South of France – home track of defending Champion Yannick Aigoin; who hasn’t had the brightest start to the season, whilst brother Jerome Aigoin already has two notable wins to his name in Montpellier & Silver Pennes, despite the latter being rained out. Sartel looks to be comfortable with his Agama at this early stage and with backing from Nemo he is a candidate in Pierrefeu, Savoya remains the unknown quantity, his usual front-running sparkle lacking somewhat at races in the US and France. Anyway back on topic, bodyshell painter legend Miko Bouvier took the win in the brushless class followed by Maxime Musin and Automodelisme’s own ViVi in 3rd.
