So we’ve all seen it happen at tracks from time to time; be it a slight slip resulting in a less than cool meeting with the deck or a rather more serious meeting with the local hospital after taking one to the head… Corner marshaling 1/8 Offroad buggys has it’s dangers – speeding slightly out of control jumping nitro toys – not to mention an irate racer at the wheel none too pleased about crashing for the umpteenth time at the same spot on the triple… But once in a while, and its quite a rare joy this gem of a video comes along, which we technically shouldn’t like enjoy love, but the sheer awesomeness of the mishap is something we have to share with everyone, watch and enjoy marshaling as it should be done by our new friend Terry…

Whilst in Thailand at the Worlds, the quality of marshaling was a topic on many peoples’ lips, however it must be said the effort over the course of seven days these guys put in was great. Before the event we may have smirked at the marshals wearing helmets, but having witnessed one incident where blood was drawn along with numerous near-misses (including a buggy passing a few feet over my own head – handily protected by a vietnamese-style rice paddy hat) it definitely made sense on that track. I thought the two following photos were appropriate; the first – marshal takes some immediate avoiding action and the second a marshal slipping (luckily in one of the off-track areas) facing some on-coming traffic,
